Bedtime in Detroit Takes Center Stage

Bedtime in DetroitDramatic Women is delighted to announce the premiere performances of Ellen K. Anderson’s new play Bedtime in Detroit, opening Friday March 26 at Center Stage Theater and continuing Saturday March 27 and Thursday through Saturday April 1-3. Carol Fischer will direct a stellar cast which includes Jeff Mills, Sage Parker, Lisa Sanderson and Paul Taylor.

Bedtime in Detroit is a romantic comedy set in an old firehouse, amid the wreckage of a great American city down on its luck, but full of wild possibilities. It explores the past, present and future of an ex-motorcycle racer and the woman who made another life for herself, but refuses to let him go.

A native of Detroit, Ellen K. Anderson is an award-winning Santa Barbara playwright with a warm-hearted view of the world, and a special gift for comedy. Her recent New York productions include New Amsterdames, Shirtwaist, Liz Estrada, and Why Mud Flaps? Santa Barbara audiences will remember such unique earlier works as Three Tits and Inflatable Girls at UCSB, Barbed Wire Under Your Armpits and Sleeping With Squirrels with Dramatic Women, and Listen For Wings for Access Theatre.
